Privacy Policy

What Underlay is
Underlay only changes how supported websites look in your own browser: background, colours, fonts, and glass. We do not own or operate ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Meta AI, YouTube, Pinterest, or Twitch. We do not read your chats, watch history, pins, or messages, and we do not send that content to our server.
What we store
- Email and user id, if you create an account or sign in with Google, so the plan can follow that account.
- Plan (Underlay, Pro, Max, or Play), the platforms you picked, and whether the plan is active, in trial, or cancelled.
- Look settings in Chrome on your computer: colours, fonts, glass, language, on/off state, and backgrounds you upload. Those stay in the browser unless a later feature says otherwise.
- Date of birth in Chrome, so we can tell that you are 16 or older to use Underlay and 18 or older to buy. It is not sent to us or to Stripe.
- A promo code, if you use one, together with the account email, so the code cannot be reused by clearing Chrome data.
- Payment at Stripe. Card numbers stay with Stripe. We keep the email on the receipt and the plan status.
Why
We use this to deliver the plan you bought, keep your look on this browser, stop a promo code from being shared past its limit, and meet tax and accounting duties. The legal basis is the contract with you, and legal obligation for accounting. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who else receives it
- Stripe takes the payment and sends the receipt. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to the card.
- Vercel hosts this site, so a normal connection to the page is processed there.
- Google only if you choose Continue with Google. We use that to identify the account. We do not post to your Google account.
If a provider is outside the EU/EEA, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism, such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not run our own analytics or advertising cookies.
Trial and renewal
A 3-day trial, when the payment link offers one, starts when you submit the card at checkout. Stripe charges when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. A subscription renews until you cancel in the Stripe customer portal, from the receipt email, or by writing to info@underlay-app.online at least 24 hours before the next renewal. Access continues until the period you already paid for ends.
How long
- Account, plan, and billing records: while the account exists, and after that for as long as Danish accounting law requires.
- Promo-code use: while that code is still being enforced.
- Look settings and uploads in Chrome: until you remove the extension or clear the extension’s data.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 16. Before the extension can be used, we ask for a date of birth. That date stays in Chrome on your computer. We do not send it to our server or to Stripe. If the date says you are under 16, Underlay does not turn on. Buying a plan requires that the date says you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your account data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent, at info@underlay-app.online. Removing the extension deletes the look stored in Chrome. You can complain to Datatilsynet in Denmark, or to your local EU authority.
Changes
We will update this page and change the date above when the policy changes.
